Wire in the Nose

Chris's full school assembly is a fifty minute long presentation in which he focuses on two main topics. The first is the topic of risk taking. This part of the speech is aimed at helping students overcome the fear failure and the fear of the what others think about them. More specifically, the objective of this topic is to encourage the young adults to not give into peer pressure simply because it would be the 'cool' thing to do, and to make them see that another's perception is not nearly as important as their own happiness and success. The second concept that Chris addresses involves the best methods for problem solving and dealing with frustration. Chris stresses that over-reacting, yelling, and passing blame during frustrating situations not only does not lead to a resolution, but also tends to make these situations worse. The main message passed along here is that the simplest, most logical solution to a problem very seldom changes and there are some very simple things that can be done in order to determine what that solution may be. Chris's program blends his hilarious story telling ability with real-life examples to illustrate how utilizing these two concepts can improve a student's life.
